Use and validity of local climate indicators as tools of forecasts adapted to the Andean reality

The particular ecological condition of the Andean zone with high agroclimatic risk, due to its altitude, risk of frost and droughts and extreme locality, has only been managed in a relatively sustainable way through the knowledge gained through generations and an intense relationship of Observation and interaction of the producer with his productive means, which have been the basis for agriculture to develop for centuries in a relatively successful way. Currently, external factors of ecological and social change affect sustainability, requiring an adequate system of forecasting and prediction of climate, adapted locally and aimed at reducing the risks of extreme weather events. One of the bases for this would be to increase the credibility of conventional climate observation systems to the local and traditional systems of observation of the producers and to this have taken steps to validate the observations of climatic indicators used by the producers with the preliminary validation of two of them.
