Abstract

One of the main factors that limits the production of paprika cultivation is the sadness or wilting of the pepper, a disease caused by the fungus Phytophthora capsici which causes losses between 10 and 100 % of the production, for its control extremely toxic fungicides are used for the environment, so the objective of this work was to control the sadness of the pepper with the application of Trichoderma harzianum, in the cultivation of paprika in the community of Huerta Grande. The research was carried out in two stages; the first in a warehouse, using a completely randomized design (DCA) with three treatments and four replications. In the second stage, the seedlings obtained were transplanted to the final soil, maintaining the three treatments; with three repetitions; using random block design (DBA). The treatments had the following specifications: T0 (control treatment); T1 (treatment with reference doses corresponding to a concentration of 4.20x108 CFU g-1 of T. harzianum) and T2 (treatment of 5.46x108 CFU g-1 of T. harzianum). The results obtained show that the application of T. harzianum favored the increase in yield, obtaining results of 95.60 t ha-1 with (T1); 84.17 t ha-1 with (T2) and with (T0) 71.87 t ha-1 was obtained. The incidence and severity in T1 and T2 caused by P. capsici was reduced by 68 % with respect to the control, favoring yields. Finally, it was concluded that the application of T. harziarum at a concentration of 4.2x108 CFU g-1 decreases the attack of P. capsici, favoring the development and yields of paprika cultivation.
