Abstract

A biodigestor, is a source of improvement of the quality of life of the people in the rural area, since it generates biogas, and implies the non-use of dung in the kitchens of the rural area. The objective of the present work was to carry out an analysis of the efficiency of the combustion of biogas in a Bolivian burner. The combustion efficiency was determined by comparing the amount of air entering the combustion, while the energy efficiency of the biogas was determined by the combustion of the same. Boiling tests were performed according to Bolivian standard NB83001 (IBNORCA, 2012). The results show that the biogas presents a more efficient combustion than the GLP under the conditions of the tests realized in the homemade burner used. Also, the burner air control valve, which is included in the cooker, is insufficient to regulate the optimal combustion of the biogas. The value of the energy efficiency of the biogas burner found is sixty-nine percent.
