Abstract

The technology drip irrigation is of interest due to its high efficiency of water application. The entire system requires proper management to ensure the return on investment, and much more in areas that have no tradition of irrigation as is the case of the Bolivian highland. Therefore, it is convenient to evaluate the installation of this system to check the design criteria and monitor the seals of the emitters. The objective of this work was to evaluate the uniformity of application of a pressurized drip irrigation system at the Experimental Station of Choquenaira in the department of La Paz. The evaluation of the uniformity of the irrigation system was based on the methodology of Merrian and Keller, (1978) and the determination of the capacity of the flow was by method of Water Center of the UMSS, in an area of 1,400 m2.Las response variables Studied were: hydraulic behavior of the emitter, analysis of irrigation performance, indicators of flow and pressure uniformity. The pressure-flow ratio determined that the flow of circulation was turbulent, which means that there will be no obstruction problems in the emitters. The most unfavorable coefficient of uniformity was 69.61% with coefficient of variation of 13.68%. The basic infiltration rate of loamy loam soil was 6.54 mm h-1. The dimensions of the wetting diameter were 14 cm wide and 18 cm long, with a humid bulb depth of 10 cm h-1, with discharge of emitter flow of 1.4 l h-1. These results indicate that the implementation of this system allows the achievement of many benefits in agricultural production, which added to the use of groundwater, production and yield would increase allowing the improvement of the family productive system.
