Abstract

The bean, a fundamental food in the diet of the inhabitants of the Sibundoy Valley in Colombia, faces the loss of economic viability due to inadequate production practices in its cultivation and the emergence of non-agricultural activities. The changes in the pedagogical approach to education caused by this situation favor a technical business approach with respect to traditional peasant production. This work aims to build pedagogical strategies focused on the sustainable management of bean production systems, which provide the student with a solid training to interpret, adapt and critically develop scientific and technological knowledge with a differential approach. The scene of the investigation is the Educational Institution (IE) Sucre of the municipality of Colón, in the department of Putumayo, which is carried out through a theoretical-practical exercise developed in phases, to achieve innovation in the cultivation of beans through information and, Communication Technologies (ICT). The results confirm education as an essential element for the development of the individual and their community, and the achievement of equality and peace in the territories by discouraging the migration of young people to the cities, thus contributing to generational change in the countryside.
