Abstract

This research has been carried out with the objective of obtaining green fodder for dairy cattle in times of drought, applying organic fertilizer (ovine biol), and determine the quality and yield of forage oats. The work was carried out in the agricultural management 2015 (February to July) in the Choquenaira Experimental Station of the Department of La Paz. The climatic conditions were critical (low rainfall, temperature below 0 ° C and less light hours). The genetic material under study was local forage oats purchased at the Sunday fair in Viacha. The liquid fertilizer (bovine biol) is processed by anaerobic decomposition of beneficial microorganisms in biodigesters during three months of maturation. The cultivated forage area was 360 m2 with plots of 180 m2 per treatment. The biol and water ratio was 50%, respectively, in a 20 liter capacity backpack. 8.33 m3 ha-1 of bovine biol was used. The performance and forage quality data were analyzed by a descriptive statistical design, in which differences between the treatment (T-50% biol) and the control (T-0% biol) were observed. The use of bovine biol enriches the value of crude protein, crude fiber and energy value and the presence of minerals. The yield of green matter (M.V.) in the treatment to which biol (T-50% biol) was applied reached 16.39 t M.V. ha-1, whereas the control (without biol) produced 9.80 t M.V. ha-1.
