Abstract

In Bolivia the importance of cañahua crop lies in its high nutritional value, protein content, raw fiber, carbohydrates and minerals. This cultivation grows in high and cold areas of the highland, and even adapts to higher altitudes thanks to being tolerant to frost. It is known that the use of biol has advantages in organic production contains nutrients that stimulate the growth, development and yield of plants. In that sense, the effect of biol application of bovine cattle on three cultivars of cañahua, including the variety Condornaira, ecotype Naranja and ecotype Lasta Naranja, under a drip irrigation system at the Experimental Station Choquenaira was evaluated. The methodology was evaluated with a statistical analysis of 15 treatments in Random Blocks with Split Parcels arrangement. The study factors were fertigation in three phenological phases and three cultivars of cañahua. Study variables considered: days at flowering, days at physiological maturation, yield, harvest index, weight of one hundred grains and hectoliter grain weight. The results show that the application of biol had a significant effect on the branching and vegetation cover during the development of plant height. The variety Condornaira and the ecotype Orange responded better to the application of biol. Also, in the inflorescence phase, the physiological maturity was reached at 113 days with the application of the biol while in the dry season reached 152 days. The results show that families in the region can increase their economic income with the use of local materials and low investment to obtain biol, which allows to obtain higher yields in less time, which added to the application of irrigation by dripping can reach the efficient use of irrigation water that is so scarce in the region.
